Seit Wochen machen Neonazis und Rassisten in Tröglitz Stimmung gegen die Aufnahme von Flüchtlingen. Anfang März hatte der ehrenamtliche Bürgermeister Markus Nierth (parteilos) wegen rechtsradikaler Anfeindungen sein Amt niedergelegt – er erhielt Morddrohungen. In der Nacht zum Karfreitag brannte dann eine Asylunterkunft.
Unbekannte hatten am Samstag das Mahnmal für ein früheres Außenlager des KZ Buchenwald in Jonastal angegriffen. Laut Thüringer Polizei wurden am Samstag eine Gedenktafel und ein Blumengebinde im Jonastal bei Arnstadt beschädigt. Die Tafel war gerade neu gestaltet worden, das Gebinde bei einer Gedenkveranstaltung niedergelegt worden. Die Polizei vermutet einen rechtsmotivierten Hintergrund.
